Dumping Ebay Partner Network

I was actually a slight fan of eBay Partner Network’s quality click pricing … for all of about 30 days.

The EPC was never very good, but the simple fact is, people click on ebay auctions. I had sites that were getting 15-30 clicks, from just 50-60 visitors a day. I wasn’t getting rich, but it was relatively easy money.

Then about a week ago, it all came to screeching halt. My EPC dropped to 0 … that’s right, a big fat goose egg.

I still get the same number of visitors, and the same number of clicks to most of my sites, but for a couple of days anyway I wasn’t getting compensated at all by ebay. For those of you who don’t know, when your EPC goes to Zero, it does so for ALL of your campaigns … not just those that may not be “performing” (which by the way, you may or may not even be able to determine).

So, I have slowly started the process of converting those sites to either adsense or amazon … neither of which (in my past experience) pay as well as ebay did (for those type of niche sites) … but at this point, anything is better than zilch.

It’s a shame actually. I’ve enjoyed my time sending traffic to ebay … and I’ve enjoyed the deposits that they’ve made to my paypal account. I never wanted to be a member of the ebay hater’s club. But it’s become obvious that they just don’t have any use for us little affiliates.

It’s all good though. In the big scheme of things, there are are plenty of other good way to earn extra income.

Hey Todd, I never actually made anything from my eBay ads so consider yourself lucky, that at least for a little while you got some form of compensation for your ads.

I’ve made a couple of sales from Amazon, but not much. Too bad they don’t pay per click as I’m sending them people, they just don’t buy anything. They should have a you click you buy policy :D
